If you are stuck in a professional setting, try adding -ирам to an international noun. 90% of the time, it will be a valid Bulgarian verb.
⚠️

Avoid Zero-Derivation

Never use a noun as a verb without a suffix. Saying 'Аз план срещата' is a major error. Always use 'планирам'.
💬

Color Verbs

Bulgarians love using verbs like 'зеленее' to describe landscapes. It sounds much more poetic than just saying 'The grass is green'.

Smart Tips

Use deadjectival verbs like 'зеленее' or 'синее' instead of 'е зелено' to sound more native and descriptive.

Тревата е зелена. Тревата зеленее под слънцето.

Don't be afraid to use -ирам. It is the standard way to adapt global vocabulary.

Ние правим мениджмънт на проекта. Ние менажираме проекта.

Look around your room. Pick 3 objects (nouns) and 3 qualities (adjectives). Try to turn them into verbs and use them in a sentence.

ملاحظات ثقافية

Bulgarian academics prefer using verbalized forms of Latin/Greek origin to sound more authoritative. Using 'анализирам' is preferred over 'разглеждам' in formal papers.

Young Bulgarians often verbalize English nouns directly using the -ирам suffix, creating 'Bulglish'.

Bulgarian verbalization patterns are rooted in Old Church Slavonic suffixes (-ити, -ати), but significantly expanded during the 19th-century National Revival to accommodate French and German technical terms.

الأسئلة الشائعة (6)

Most verbs ending in `-ирам` are bi-aspectual, meaning they can be perfective or imperfective depending on context. However, in modern Bulgarian, there is a trend to add prefixes (like `про-`, `пре-`) to make them clearly perfective.

Technically, yes, but not all will sound natural. Stick to established forms or use the `-ирам` suffix for new technical concepts. For native words, check a dictionary as the suffixes vary.

`Беля` means 'to peel' or 'to whiten something' (transitive), while `белея` means 'to appear white' (intransitive).

It is widely used in informal speech and social media, but it is not considered standard literary Bulgarian. In a formal essay, use `харесвам`.

Verbs ending in `-изирам` usually come from nouns/adjectives that already have an '-iz' element in their international root (e.g., `организация` -> `организирам`, but `модерен` -> `модернизирам`).

No. Verbs in `-ирам` are 3rd conjugation, while verbs in `-ея` are 1st conjugation, and verbs in `-я` are 2nd conjugation.
