说话

Don't use it if you want to say you 'speak a language.' For languages, just use the single word 说. For example, say 说中文, not 说话中文. That sounds a bit like saying 'I talk Chinese language' in a clunky way. Also, avoid it in very high-level legal or diplomatic settings. There, more formal terms like 发言 or 谈话 are better.
