The imperfective tense describes actions happening now or in the future by adding specific prefixes and suffixes to the verb root.
- Use prefixes like 'y-' or 't-' to indicate the person (e.g., 'y-sabr' - he breaks).

Meanings
The imperfective aspect is used to express actions that are currently in progress, habitual, or intended for the future.
Present Continuous
Action happening right now.
“እየበላሁ ነው (I am eating).”
“እየሰራ ነው (He is working).”
Habitual Action
Something done regularly.
“በየቀኑ እሮጣለሁ (I run every day).”
“ቡና ይጠጣሉ (They drink coffee).”
Future Intent
Actions planned for the future.
“ነገ እመጣለሁ (I will come tomorrow).”
“አዲስ መኪና ይገዛል (He will buy a new car).”
