a few/a little: زمانی که میخواهید واقعبینانه یا مثبت صحبت کنید. مثلاً در یک جلسه کاری وقتی میگوییدWe have a few solutions, یعنی راهحلهایی داریم که میتوانیم روی آنها کار کنیم. این یک جمله سازنده است. - استفاده از

a littleبرای اسمهای قابل شمارش استفاده کنند. مثلاً میگویندa little friendsکه غلط است. علت این است که در فارسی، ما «دوست» را هم مثل «آب» با «کمی» میسنجیم، اما در انگلیسی باید بین «تعداد» (قابل شمارش) و «مقدار» (غیرقابل شمارش) تفکیک قائل شد.
