Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Connectors like 'және' (and), 'бірақ' (but), and 'өйткені' (because) are the glue that turns simple phrases into fluent, complex Kazakh sentences.
- Use 'және' to link nouns or clauses: 'Мен алма және алмұрт жедім.'
- Use 'бірақ' for contrast: 'Ол келді, бірақ кешігіп қалды.'
- Use 'өйткені' for reasons: 'Мен бардым, өйткені ол шақырды.'
Meanings
Connectors are words used to join words, phrases, or clauses together. They provide logical flow and structure to your speech.
Addition
Adding information using 'және' (and) or 'тағы' (also).
“Ол кітап оқыды және музыка тыңдады.”
“Маған алма ұнайды, тағы алмұрт та ұнайды.”
Contrast
Showing opposition using 'бірақ' (but) or 'алайда' (however).
“Ол жүгірді, бірақ автобусқа үлгермеді.”

Causality
Explaining reasons using 'өйткені' (because) or 'сондықтан' (therefore).
