Mastering dates in Portuguese requires using the definite article 'o' or 'a' before days and the preposition 'de' for months.

  • Days of the week are masculine and use the article: 'A segunda-feira é o primeiro dia'.

The 'Feira' Trick

Remember that 'feira' means market day. It makes the logic of the days much easier to remember.

Only the 1st is 'primeiro'. Don't say 'segundo' for the 2nd of the month.
