Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'որ' (vor) to connect two ideas, acting like 'who', 'which', or 'that' in English.
- Use 'որ' to introduce a clause describing a noun: 'Այն տղան, որ եկավ' (The boy who came).
- The verb in the relative clause usually goes to the end of that clause.
- Unlike English, 'որ' is used for both people and things.

Meanings
Relative clauses provide extra information about a noun. In Armenian, the particle 'որ' (vor) acts as the bridge.
Defining relative clause
Specifying which person or thing we are talking about.
“Այն մարդը, որ ինձ օգնեց, իմ ընկերն է։”
“Տունը, որ կառուցվել է անցյալ տարի, շատ գեղեցիկ է։”
Non-defining relative clause
Adding extra information that isn't strictly necessary.
“Երևանը, որ Հայաստանի մայրաքաղաքն է, շատ հին քաղաք է։”
“Իմ եղբայրը, որ ապրում է Փարիզում, շուտով կգա։”
