Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
In Armenian, when you follow a preposition with a verb, you must use the ablative case of the infinitive.
- Use the -ելուց form after prepositions like 'before' (մինչ) or 'without' (առանց). Example: Առանց խոսելու (Without speaking).
- The infinitive stem + -ուց creates the gerund needed for postpositions. Example: Գնալուց առաջ (Before leaving).
- Negative gerunds add 'չ' before the verb. Example: Չգնալուց առաջ (Before not going).

Meanings
This rule allows you to connect actions to time or condition using prepositions. It transforms a verb into a noun-like state that can be governed by a preposition.
