The word 핸드폰 (hand-deu-pon) is the most common Korean term for a mobile phone. It is a Konglish word, derived from the English words 'hand' and 'phone'.

Even though the technical term in Korean is 휴대전화 (hyeodae-jeonhwa), almost everyone uses 핸드폰 in casual, everyday conversation. It represents the device that connects us to the world, acting as a camera, map, and communication hub all in one.
