Terminaison Polie : Le 'Yo' Magique (-ayo/eoyo)

Utilise la fin en «요» pour 90% de tes conversations quotidiennes pour paraître poli, amical et super naturel.

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Add 'yo' to the end of your verbs to turn plain speech into polite, everyday Korean conversation.

  • If the last vowel is 'a' or 'o', add '-ayo'. Example: 가다 -> 가요.
  • If the last vowel is anything else, add '-eoyo'. Example: 먹다 -> 먹어요.
  • If the verb ends in 'hada', it becomes 'haeyo'. Example: 공부하다 -> 공부해요.
Verb Stem + (-ayo/-eoyo) = Polite Verb

Overview

Vous avez déjà regardé un K-drama où chaque phrase finit par yo ? Ce n'est pas du rap, c'est la Terminaison Polie (), ou style 해요체. C'est la base absolue du coréen moderne.
Sans elle, vous sonnez soit comme un roi du Moyen Âge (trop formel), soit comme un enfant impoli (trop familier). C'est le juste milieu : poli pour les inconnus, mais amical.

How This Grammar Works

Les verbes coréens se transforment. Dans le dictionnaire, ils finissent par (가다, aller). Pour les utiliser, il faut les réveiller. La forme fonctionne selon l'Harmonie Vocalique.
Si la racine a une voyelle lumineuse ( ou ), ajoutez 아요. Sinon (voyelle sombre), ajoutez 어요. Le verbe 하다 (faire) devient toujours 해요.

Formation Pattern

Voici l'algorithme :
2
Retirez : De 가다, gardez .
3
Regardez la dernière voyelle.
4
Catégorie 1 : Voyelles Lumineuses (, )
5
Ajoutez 아요. Ex : 살다 (vivre) → 살아요.
6
*Contraction* : Si ça finit par une voyelle, fusionnez. 가다가요.
7
Catégorie 2 : Voyelles Sombres
8
Ajoutez 어요. Ex : 먹다 (manger) → 먹어요.
9
Catégorie 3 : Exception 하다
10
Devient toujours 해요. Ex : 공부하다공부해요.
11
Cas Spécial 이다 (être)
12
Nom finit par une voyelle : 예요.
13
Nom finit par une consonne : 이에요.

When To Use It

Dans 90% des cas. Au café, au travail, par SMS. C'est l'option par défaut.

Common Mistakes

  • Piège de la Double Voyelle : N'écrivez pas 가아요, mais 가요.
  • Trop de 입니다 : Ne l'utilisez pas avec des amis, on dirait un interrogatoire.
  • Irrégulier : 덥다 devient 더워요.

Contrast With Similar Patterns

  • Vs -(스)ㅂ니다 : 갑니다 (Militaire/Info) vs 가요 (La vie).
  • Vs Panmal : vs 가요. Enlevez le yo seulement pour les proches.

Quick FAQ

Q : Et si le verbe finit par ?

R: Le disparaît ! 쓰다 devient 써요.

Q : Pour les questions ?

R: Oui ! Montez juste l'intonation. 가요? (Tu y vas ?).

Q : 예요 est-il pareil que ?

R: Presque, mais 예요 est pour le verbe être (이다) avec les noms.

🎯

L'astuce du 'Yo' oublié

Si tu parles à un ami proche et que tu oublies la forme décontractée, dis juste la forme polie et enlève le 'yo' à la fin : «밥 먹어».
⚠️

안녕하세여».

Smart Tips

Check the last vowel immediately.

가다 가요

When in doubt, use -eoyo.

모르다 몰라요

Always use -ayo/eoyo.

가요

Keep it consistent.

가요. 먹어. 가요. 먹어요.
