Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'ka-' for similarities and 'af'al min' for comparisons to describe how things relate to one another.
- Use 'ka-' (like) as a prefix: 'ka-al-qamar' (like the moon).
- Use 'af'al min' (more than) for comparisons: 'huwa akbar min' (he is bigger than).
- The noun following 'min' must be in the genitive case (kasra) if it is a definite noun.

How This Grammar Works

Formation Pattern
ka- (直喩)
kāf (k) を比較対象の名詞の先頭に直接付けます。
huwa ka-l-asad (هو كَالأسد) = 彼はライオンのようだ。
al- (the) の付いた単語に付きます。
mithla (直喩)
mithla を使います。
huwa mithla l-asad (هو مِثْلَ الأسد) = 彼はライオンのようだ。

When To Use It
ka- や mithla を使います。「あなたの顔は月のようだ」（ちなみに、これはアラビア語の典型的な口説き文句です）。性質、大きさ、価格を厳密に比較する場合は afʿal + min パターンを使います。「この車は私の家より高い」。ソーシャルメディアの時代では、コメントで mithla が頻繁に使われています：「これみたいなバッグが欲しい」 (urīd ḥaqība mithla hādhihi)。
Common Mistakes
