house و home یکی از مباحث بنیادین است که بسیاری از زبانآموزان ایرانی در سطح B1 با آن درگیر هستند. در زبان فارسی، ما معمولاً برای هر دو مفهوم از کلمه «خانه» استفاده میکنیم و تفاوت آنها را از طریق بافت جمله یا کلمات همراه متوجه میشویم. برای مثال، وقتی میگوییم «خانه خریدم»، منظورمان همان ساختمان فیزیکی است، اما وقتی میگوییم «دارم میروم خانه»، منظورمان مقصد و محل سکونت است.House به معنای یک «سازه فیزیکی» است؛ یعنی همان بنایی که از آجر و سیمان ساخته شده و میتوانید آن را ببینید یا بفروشید. اما home یک مفهوم «عاطفی و انتزاعی» است؛ جایی که شما در آن احساس تعلق، آرامش و امنیت دارید.home برخلاف house میتواند نقش قید (Adverb) را ایفا کند. درک این تمایز به شما کمک میکند تا از اشتباهات رایج در ساختار جملات جلوگیری کنید و دقیقتر صحبت کنید. به یاد داشته باشید که در انگلیسی، شما میتوانید در یک house زندگی کنید که هنوز برایتان home نشده است، یا حتی در یک هتل یا یک کشور خارجی احساس home داشته باشید.house همیشه یک اسم (Noun) است. یعنی همیشه به عنوان یک موجودیت فیزیکی در جمله ظاهر میشود و در اکثر موارد به حرف اضافه نیاز دارد.I am in the house. در اینجا house یک مکان فیزیکی است که شما داخل آن هستید. اما home پیچیدهتر است؛ هم میتواند اسم باشد و هم قید مکان.home به عنوان اسم به کار میرود، شبیه به house است: This is my home (این خانه من است). اما وقتی به عنوان قید مکان (Adverb of place) به کار میرود، دیگر نیازی به حرف اضافه ندارد. این دقیقاً همان جایی است که زبانآموزان فارسیزبان دچار لغزش میشوند.go, come, arrive استفاده میکنید، نباید از حرف اضافه to قبل از home استفاده کنید. ساختار صحیح go home است، نه go to home. این قانون دستوری به دلیل نقش قیدی home است که در خودِ کلمه، مفهوم «به سمت» یا «در» را دارد.here و there میبینیم؛ ما نمیگوییم to there بلکه میگوییم go there. بنابراین، home در این حالت به عنوان یک قید مکان عمل کرده و نیاز به حرف اضافه را حذف میکند. این تفاوت دستوری، کلید اصلی برای طبیعیتر صحبت کردن است.They are building a new house.(اشاره به ساختمان فیزیکی)I feel at home here.(اشاره به حس تعلق و آرامش)She arrived home late.(قید مکان: بدون حرف اضافه)
house زمانی است که تمرکز شما بر روی ویژگیهای فیزیکی، معماری، متراژ یا خرید و فروش ملک است. اگر در حال توصیف دیوارها، سقف، یا تعداد اتاقهای یک ساختمان هستید، همیشه از house استفاده کنید. برای مثال: The house has a large garden.home زمانی استفاده کنید که میخواهید بر جنبههای عاطفی، شخصی و سکونت تأکید کنید. وقتی میگویید I miss home (دلم برای خانه تنگ شده)، منظور شما دلتنگی برای ساختمان نیست، بلکه دلتنگی برای خانواده، آرامش و محیطی است که در آن بزرگ شدهاید.home انتخاب بهتری است. مثلاً عبارت work from home که امروزه بسیار رایج است، دقیقاً به مفهوم «دورکاری» یا «کار از محل سکونت» اشاره دارد. در اینجا home به عنوان قید مکان عمل میکند.home حتی میتواند به عنوان صفت (Adjective) نیز استفاده شود، مانند home page (صفحه اصلی سایت) یا home team (تیم میزبان). این کاربردها نشاندهنده «مرکزیت» یا «محل اصلی» است که در house دیده نمیشود.- 1استفاده از حرف اضافه قبل از قید
