Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

First conjugation verbs use the vowel 'e' in their endings, except for the 'I' (я) and 'they' (они) forms.

  • Identify the stem by removing the infinitive ending -ть.

How This Grammar Works

En russe, le verbe vous indique qui est le sujet, même si vous omettez le pronom. Si vous voyez la terminaison -ешь, vous savez que quelqu'un parle à un ami. Si vous voyez -ют, c'est un groupe de personnes.
C'est pourquoi les Russes omettent souvent le Я ou le Ты dans les SMS : la terminaison fait tout le travail. Contrairement à l'anglais, le russe n'a pas de forme séparée pour le

Formation Pattern

Créer ces formes est un processus simple en quatre étapes :

Commencez par l'Infinitif. C'est la forme du dictionnaire, se terminant généralement par -ть (comme знать - savoir).

Enlevez la terminaison de l'infinitif. Coupez ce -ть pour trouver le radical. Pour знать, le radical est зна-.

Identifiez la dernière voyelle du radical. Dans la première conjugaison, c'est généralement а ou я.

The 'E' Rule

If you see an 'е' in the ending (like -ешь, -ет), you are almost certainly looking at a First Conjugation verb.
