مقارنة الأشياء المتساوية (As...as)

قاعدة as...as هي ميزانك للمساواة بين شيئين، بنحط الصفة base form في النص عشان نربط بينهم.

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use 'as...as' to show that two things are the same in some way, like a mirror image.

  • Use 'as + adjective + as' for equality: 'He is as tall as me.'
  • Use 'not as + adjective + as' for inequality: 'It's not as cold as yesterday.'
  • Never use comparative '-er' forms inside the sandwich: 'as fast as', not 'as faster as'.
Subject + Verb + 🥪 as + Adjective + as 🥪 + Object

3
حط أول as.
4
ارمي الصفة أو الظرف زي ما هما. إوعى تغير فيهم! (مفيش better ولا tastier).
5
حط الـ as التانية.
6
ضيف الفاعل التاني (الحاجة اللي بتقارن بيها).
7
مثال: The sequel (1) is (2) as (3) good (4) as (5) the original (6).
8
في حالة النفي: بس ضيف not قبل أول as. مثل: The new iPhone is not as heavy as the old one.
9
للكميات: استخدم as many as للحاجات اللي بتتعد (زي متابعين TikTok) واستخدم as much as للحاجات اللي مش بتتعد (زي وقت الفراغ).

متى نستخدمها

هتسمع القاعدة دي في كل حتة في الحياة الحديثة. موجودة في كل قسم تعليقات على TikTok (زي: «هو مش دمه خفيف زي ما هو فاكر!» - 'He's not as funny as he thinks!') وفي كل تقييمات المنتجات على Amazon (زي: «الكابل ده طويل زي ما كنت محتاج» - 'This cable is as long as I needed'). استخدمها وإنت مسافر وبتقارن بين الفنادق، أو وإنت في إنترفيو شغل وعايز تقول إن مهاراتك قوية زي أي مرشح تاني.
هي مثالية لفيديوهات السفر («المنظر هنا جميل زي الصور!» - 'The view here is as beautiful as the postcards!') أو حتى وإنت بتبعت رسالة لصاحبك عن «ديت» فاشل («هو مكنش قمر زي صور بروفايله» - 'He wasn't as cute as his profile picture'). هي الهيكل الأساسي لأي موقف محتاج توزن فيه بين اختيارين. حتى إنها مستخدمة في مصطلحات مشهورة زي as soon as possible (ASAP)، واللي معناها حرفياً «في أسرع وقت ممكن».
يا ريت بس لو توصيل البيتزا كان سريع زي سرعة الإنترنت عندي.

الأخطاء الشائعة

أكبر فخ؟ إنك تستخدم صفة مقارنة. ناس كتير بتقول as better as أو as taller as. إوعى تعمل كدة! خلي الصفة بسيطة: as good as, as tall as. الموضوع كأنك لابس طاقيتين فوق بعض—بيبقى أوفر أوي. غلطة تانية مشهورة هي استخدام than بدل الـ as التانية؛ ممكن تسمع حد بيقول 'This coffee is as hot than lava.' لأ طبعاً، الصح هو as hot as. افتكر قاعدة الساندوتش: لازم العيش يبقى زي بعضه من الناحيتين. وكمان، أوعى تنسى الـ as التانية خالص؛ فقولك 'She is as smart her sister' بيخلي اللي بيسمعك مستني تكمل باقي الجملة، كأنك بنيت نص كوبري وسبته. وأخيراً، خد بالك من so...as؛ فبرغم إنها مسموحة في جمل النفي (not so big as) بس بتبان «دقة قديمة» شوية. خليك في not as big as عشان تبان إنسان طبيعي من القرن الواحد وعشرين.

مقارنة مع أنماط مشابهة

متلخبطش بين as...as وبين the same as. رغم إنهم ليهم نفس المعنى، بس القواعد مختلفة؛ بنقول Your shoes are the same as mine (اسم + اسم)، لكن بنقول Your shoes are as cool as mine (صفة). كمان هي مختلفة عن استخدام than؛ إحنا بنستخدم than للحاجات اللي *مش* متساوية (A is better than B).
استخدم as...as لما تعوز تركز على التشابه. فيه قريب تاني ليها وهو like. لما تقول 'You run like a cheetah' ده تشبيه، لكن 'You run as fast as a cheetah' دي مقارنة قواعدية.
واحدة شاعرية، والتانية دقيقة. استخدم as...as لما تحب تكون واضح ومحدد بخصوص الصفة اللي بتقارنها. ده الفرق بين إنك تقول على حد إنه 'like a boss' وبين إنك تقول إنه 'as hard-working as a boss'.

أسئلة شائعة

Q

هل ينفع أستخدم as...as مع الظروف (Adverbs)؟

طبعاً! I can't dance as well as you.

Q

هل عادي أقول as much as للفلوس؟

أيوه، لأن الفلوس في الإنجليزي غير معدودة. It doesn't cost as much as I thought.

Q

هل ينفع أشيل الجزء التاني من المقارنة؟

لو السياق واضح، يبقى ينفع. The first movie was okay, but the second one wasn't as good.

Q

إيه حكاية not so...as؟

دي بس طريقة رسمية وقديمة شوية لقول not as...as. استخدمها لو عايز تبان كأنك شخصية في مسلسل درامي قديم.

Q

هل بتمشي مع الجمع؟

أيوه! These oranges are as sweet as those ones.

Q

هل ينفع أستخدمها للمبالغة؟

جداً. I'm as hungry as a wolf! بس بلاش تاكل الواجب بتاعك.

الأسئلة الشائعة (8)

In negative sentences, you can say `not so... as`, but it sounds more formal or old-fashioned. In affirmative sentences, you must use `as...as`.

In casual conversation, `as tall as me` is standard. In very formal writing, `as tall as I am` is preferred.

Yes! For example: 'He speaks as clearly as a teacher.' Just make sure to use the adverb form.

Use `as many as` for countable nouns (people, days) and `as much as` for uncountable nouns (water, love, money).

Yes, they have the same meaning, but `not as...as` is often considered more polite or descriptive.

Only in the negative form (`not as...as`). If they are equal, use the affirmative.

No, you should say `as well as` or `as good as`. Avoid using superlative forms like 'best' in this structure.

You can add `just` or `nearly`. For example: 'It's just as hot as yesterday' or 'It's nearly as big as a house.'
