مقایسه برابری (as...as)

الگوی as...as دو چیز رو به عنوان برابر مقایسه می‌کنه و از شکل ساده صفت یا قید استفاده می‌کنه. «مقایسه برابر», «صفت ساده», «قید ساده»

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Use 'as...as' to show that two things are the same in some way, like a mirror image.

  • Use 'as + adjective + as' for equality: 'He is as tall as me.'
  • Use 'not as + adjective + as' for inequality: 'It's not as cold as yesterday.'
  • Never use comparative '-er' forms inside the sandwich: 'as fast as', not 'as faster as'.
Subject + Verb + 🥪 as + Adjective + as 🥪 + Object

به تندیِ (not as spicy as) غذای رستوران نیست

7
مثال: The sequel (1) is (2) as (3) good (4) as (5) the original (6).
8
برای منفی‌ها: فقط یه not قبل از اولین as اضافه کن. The new iPhone is not as heavy as the old one.
9
برای مقدارها: از as many as برای چیزهایی که می‌تونی بشماری (مثل فالوورهای تیک‌تاک) و از as much as برای چیزهایی که نمی‌تونی بشماری (مثل وقت آزاد) استفاده کن.

کی استفاده کنیم

تو زندگی مدرن اینو همه‌جا می‌شنوی. تو هر بخش کامنت تیک‌تاک هست ('اون‌قدرها که فکر می‌کنه بامزه نیست! - not as funny as') و تو هر نقد محصول آمازون ('این کابل همون‌قدر بلنده که لازم داشتم - as long as').

مردم اغلب می‌گن as better as یا as taller as. این کارو نکن! صفت رو ساده نگه دار: as good as، as tall as. مثل اینه که دو تا کلاه رو هم‌زمان سرت کنی — زیادیه دیگه. یه اشتباه رایج دیگه استفاده از than به جای as دومیه. شاید بشنوی 'This coffee is as hot than lava.' نه خیر. درستش as hot as هست. قانون ساندویچ یادت بمونه: نون باید هر دو طرفش یکی باشه. همچنین، as دوم رو کلاً فراموش نکن. گفتنِ 'She is as smart her sister' شنونده رو معلق نگه می‌داره، انگار منتظر نیمه دیگه پُل موندن. در آخر، حواست به so...as باشه. با اینکه تو جملات منفی اشکالی نداره (not so big as)، اما یه کم قدیمی به نظر میاد. بچسب به همون not as big as تا شبیه یه آدم قرن بیست و یکمی به نظر برسی.

مقایسه با الگوهای مشابه

as...as رو با the same as قاطی نکن. با اینکه معنی‌شون یکیه، ولی گرامرش فرق داره. ما می‌گیم Your shoes are the same as mine (اسم + اسم)، اما Your shoes are as cool as mine (صفت).
با استفاده از than هم فرق داره. ما از than برای چیزهایی استفاده می‌کنیم که برابر *نیستن* (A is better than B). وقتی می‌خوای روی شباهت تمرکز کنی، از as...as استفاده کن.
یه پسرعموی نزدیک دیگه like هست. 'You run like a cheetah' یه تشبیهه، اما 'You run as fast as a cheetah' یه مقایسه گرامریه. یکی شاعرانه‌ست؛ اون یکی دقیقه.
وقتی می‌خوای در مورد ویژگی‌ای که داری مقایسه می‌کنی شفاف و دقیق باشی، از as...as استفاده کن. تفاوتش مثل گفتن اینه که یه نفر 'like a boss' (مثل رئیسه) با اینکه بگی اون 'as hard-working as a boss' (به سخت‌کوشیِ یه رئیسه).

سؤالات رایج

Q

می‌تونم از as...as با قیدها استفاده کنم؟

درسته که برای پول بگیم as much as؟

اگه موضوع روشنه، آره. The first movie was okay, but the second one wasn't as good.

Q

جریان not so...as چیه؟

فقط یه روش باکلاس و کمی قدیمی‌تر برای گفتن not as...as هست. اگه می‌خوای شبیه شخصیت‌های یه سریال تاریخی به نظر برسی، ازش استفاده کن.

Q

برای چیزهای جمع هم کار می‌کنه؟

بله! These oranges are as sweet as those ones.

Q

می‌تونم ازش برای اغراق استفاده کنم؟

کاملاً. I'm as hungry as a wolf! فقط مشق‌هاتو نخور.

In negative sentences, you can say `not so... as`, but it sounds more formal or old-fashioned. In affirmative sentences, you must use `as...as`.

In casual conversation, `as tall as me` is standard. In very formal writing, `as tall as I am` is preferred.

Yes! For example: 'He speaks as clearly as a teacher.' Just make sure to use the adverb form.

Use `as many as` for countable nouns (people, days) and `as much as` for uncountable nouns (water, love, money).

Yes, they have the same meaning, but `not as...as` is often considered more polite or descriptive.

Only in the negative form (`not as...as`). If they are equal, use the affirmative.

No, you should say `as well as` or `as good as`. Avoid using superlative forms like 'best' in this structure.

You can add `just` or `nearly`. For example: 'It's just as hot as yesterday' or 'It's nearly as big as a house.'
