everyone في جملة، الفعل الأساسي يكون مفرداً. ولكن إذا أضفنا «سؤالاً مذيلاً» (Tag Question) في نهاية الجملة للتأكيد (بمعنى: أليس كذلك؟)، فإننا نستخدم صيغة الجمع في هذا السؤال المذيل فقط.Everyone is here, aren't they?(الجميع هنا، أليسوا كذلك؟)Somebody left their phone, didn't they?
is (مفرد) وانتهينا بـ aren't they (جمع). هذا يحدث فقط في الأسئلة المذيلة لأنها تعكس المعنى الجماعي للكلمة. لا تدع هذا الاستثناء يجعلك تشك في القاعدة الأساسية للفعل الرئيسي!everyone) بمجموعة أخرى تسمى الضمائر غير المحددة للجمع (Plural Indefinite Pronouns).are, have, do, أو الفعل بدون -s) تشمل:Both(كلاهما)Many(العديد)Several(عدة)Few(القليل)

ملاحظات ثقافية
The use of 'they/their' with 'everyone' is now the standard way to be gender-neutral. In the past, people said 'Everyone does his best', but this is now considered outdated or sexist.
British speakers sometimes use plural verbs with collective nouns (like 'the team are'), but with 'everyone', they still strictly use the singular 'is/does'.
In some dialects, you might hear 'everyone' replaced by 'everybody' or 'all y'all', but 'everyone does' remains the standard for formal and neutral speech.
From Middle English 'every' (each) + 'one' (single person).

'Everyone' is for people. 'Every one' (two words) is for things and is usually followed by 'of'. Both are singular.
