When you're just starting out in Japanese, you'll quickly want to express how much you like something, or how difficult something is. That's where adverbs like すごく (sugoku) come in handy!
You'll often hear すごく used in everyday conversations to mean "very" or "extremely." It's a common and casual way to intensify adjectives and verbs.
For example, you can say すごくおいしい (sugoku oishii) to mean "very delicious." Or, if something is really hard, you can say すごくむずかしい (sugoku muzukashii).
While there are other words for "very," like とても (totemo), すごく is a great one to learn early because of how frequently it's used in natural speech. Get comfortable with it, and your Japanese will sound much more natural!
