Rapporter des paroles en hindi (Discours Indirect)

Maîtrise le discours indirect en utilisant «कि» comme colle et en ajustant tes pronoms pour rapporter des conversations avec fluidité.

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

Indirect speech in Hindi uses the conjunction 'ki' (कि) to link the reporting verb to the reported clause.

  • Use 'ki' (कि) to connect the speaker's statement to your report: 'Usne kaha ki woh aa raha hai.'
  • Shift pronouns to match your perspective: 'Main' (I) often becomes 'Woh' (he/she) in indirect speech.
  • Adjust verb tenses logically: If the reporting verb is past, the reported clause often shifts to past tense.

Overview

Tu t'es déjà demandé comment raconter les derniers potins en hindi sans avoir l'air d'un robot ? On est tous passés par là : envoyer un texto à un ami sur ce que le patron a dit sur Zoom, ou relayer une rumeur croustillante d'un groupe WhatsApp. En hindi, on appelle ça अप्रत्यक्ष कथन (apratyaksh kathan).
C'est la différence entre répéter exactement ce que quelqu'un a crié et intégrer fluidement son message dans ta propre phrase. Alors que le discours direct utilise des guillemets, le discours indirect coule comme une vraie conversation. Maîtriser cela n'est pas seulement pour les examens ; c'est pour ressembler à quelqu'un qui vit au 21e siècle.
Ne l'utilise pas pour mal citer tes amis, sinon ils te bloqueront sur Instagram !

How This Grammar Works

मैं (je) devient généralement वह (il/elle).
6
Garde le temps cohérent : En hindi, si la déclaration est toujours vraie, tu n'as souvent pas besoin de changer le temps.
7
Pour les ordres : Transforme le verbe en infinitif + के लिए.

When To Use It

Contrast With Similar Patterns

  • Discours direct : Répétition littérale.

⚠️

Le fantôme du 'Je'

Ne garde jamais «मैं» (je) sauf si tu parles vraiment de toi. C'est l'erreur n°1 qui rend les phrases confuses : «उसने कहा कि वह बीमार है।»
🎯

Argot moderne

Quand tu rapportes un message WhatsApp, tu peux dire «उसका मैसेज आया कि...» (Son message est arrivé que...) au lieu du classique 'Il a dit'.
💬

Le respect avant tout

Si tu rapportes les paroles d'un aîné, garde les formes verbales au pluriel pour maintenir le niveau de respect «आप» : «आएँगे» au lieu de «आएगा».

Smart Tips

Always use the question word after 'ki'.

Usne poocha ki tum kahan ho. Usne poocha ki tum kahan ho.

Use the subjunctive form of the verb.

Usne kaha ki tum aao. Usne kaha ki main aaun.

Keep the future tense in the reported clause.

Usne kaha ki woh aayega. Usne kaha ki woh aayega.

Ensure the reported verb matches the original time frame.

Usne kaha ki woh gaya. Usne kaha ki woh gaya tha.

Imagine a telephone wire connecting two people. The wire is labeled 'KI'. Whatever the first person says travels through the 'KI' wire to the second person.

Rhyme

When you report what someone said, use 'ki' to keep the thread.

Ram told Sita he was hungry. Sita told Laxman what Ram said. Sita said: 'Ram ne kaha ki woh bhookha hai'.

Word Web

Défi

Notes culturelles

In informal North Indian speech, 'bola' is often used instead of 'kaha'.

In formal settings, 'kaha' is preferred over 'bola'.

The structure remains the same, but vocabulary might shift (e.g., 'bataya' vs 'kaha').

The word 'ki' comes from Persian influence on Hindi, serving as a versatile conjunction.
