Pivotal Constructions: Ask Him to Come (请你帮我, 让他来)
Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use a 'pivotal' verb to make someone perform an action: Subject + Verb 1 + Person + Verb 2.
- The first verb acts as a trigger (e.g., 请, 叫, 让).
- The person in the middle serves as the object of the first verb and subject of the second.
- Never add a second subject before the second verb.
