Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
To make a verb negative in Korean, simply add -ji anta to the verb stem.
- Take the verb stem (remove -da): '먹다' (to eat) -> '먹'.
- Attach -ji: '먹' + '지' = '먹지'.
- Add the negative auxiliary 'anta': '먹지 않다' (do not eat).
