tan ... como. هناtanتعمل عمل «بدرجة» أو «بمقدار»، وتأتي قبل الصفة. في العربية، نقول «هو ذكي مثل أخيه»، أما في الإسبانية فنقولÉl es tan inteligente como su hermano. لاحظ أنtanلا تتغير أبداً مهما كانت الصفة.

tantoومشتقاتها (tanta,tantos,tantas). هذه الأداة تعمل كـ «اسم تفضيل للكمية». في العربية، نقول «عندي مال كثير مثل مالك»، لكن في الإسبانية يجب أن تتطابقtantoمع الاسم الذي تليها في الجنس والعدد. هذا يشبه إلى حد ما «اسم التفضيل» أو «العدد» في العربية من حيث التبعية، لكنه يخص الكميات.
