Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
When you ask someone to do something in Spanish, use 'que' followed by the subjunctive mood.
- Use 'pedir' or 'decir' + 'que' + subjunctive: 'Te pido que vengas.'
- The subject of the first verb must be different from the second: 'Quiero que tú limpies.'
- If the request is negative, the subjunctive still applies: 'Te pido que no llegues tarde.'
