Passado Simples em Persa: Eu fiz, Ele foi (-am, -i, -)

To speak in the past, drop the 'an' from any verb and add your personal ending.

Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds

The simple past describes completed actions; just add the correct personal ending to the past stem of the verb.

  • Find the past stem by removing '-an' from the infinitive (e.g., raftan -> raft).
  • Add the personal ending: -am, -i, - (none), -im, -id, -and.
  • For negatives, add the prefix 'na-' to the beginning of the verb.
Past Stem + Personal Ending = Completed Action (e.g., رفت + م = رفتم)

Overview

Já sentiu que o passado no inglês é uma bagunça? Pense em bought ou caught. O persa é muito mais tranquilo.
O passado simples é a base da sua jornada no persa. É como você conta aos amigos sobre seu fim de semana ou explica por que está atrasado para uma reunião no Zoom. No persa, o passado é incrivelmente regular.
Depois de encontrar o radical do passado de um verbo, você já fez 90% do trabalho. É como montar blocos de LEGO.

How This Grammar Works

Cada verbo persa tem uma identidade secreta: o infinitivo. Eles sempre terminam em an (ـن). Para chegar ao passado, só precisamos cortar esse final.
O que resta é o radical do passado. Por exemplo, raftan (ir) torna-se raft. Esse radical é o seu bilhete dourado.
Ao contrário do inglês ou português, onde os verbos mudam muito, no persa o radical é constante para cada pessoa. Você só adiciona um pequeno sufixo ao final.

Formation Pattern

1
Siga estes três passos simples:
2
Comece com o infinitivo, como khordan (comer).
3
Remova o an (ـن) final para obter o radical: khord (خورد).
4
Adicione as terminações pessoais:
5
Eu: -am -> khordam (comi)
6
Você: -i -> khordi (comeu)
7
Ele/Ela: SEM TERMINAÇÃO -> khord (comeu)
8
Nós: -im -> khordim (comemos)
9
Vocês/Você (formal): -id -> khordid (comeram)
10
Eles: -and -> khordand (comeram)
11
A terceira pessoa do singular é apenas o radical puro. É a forma minimalista!

When To Use It

Use este tempo para qualquer ação concluída.
  • Redes Sociais: Postei um story (estori gozashtam).
  • Dia a dia: Comprei pão (nan kharidam).
  • Netflix:
    Vi a temporada inteira
    (tamam-e fasl-o didam).

Common Mistakes

O erro mais comum é tentar adicionar uma terminação à terceira pessoa (ele/ela). Não diga raft-esh, diga apenas raft. Além disso, não esqueça de usar a forma plural -id para ser educado com desconhecidos.

Contrast With Similar Patterns

O persa tem passado simples (raftam) e pretérito perfeito (rafte-am). Se estiver começando, foque no passado simples. Não o confunda com o imperfeito, que leva o prefixo mi-.

Quick FAQ

P: O radical do passado é sempre regular?

R: Sim! Sempre retire o an do infinitivo.

P: Como faço a negativa?

R: Adicione na- no início. naraftam (não fui).

P: Preciso usar pronomes?

R: Normalmente não, a terminação do verbo já indica o sujeito.

🎯

Drop the Pronoun

Persian is a 'pro-drop' language. Since the verb ending tells you who the subject is, you don't need to say 'Man' or 'To' every time. It makes you sound more like a native!
⚠️

The Silent 3rd Person

Remember: He/She (U) never takes an ending in the past tense. If you add one, people will still understand you, but it's a dead giveaway that you're a beginner.
💬

Politeness Matters

Always use the plural 'you' (-id) when talking to someone you don't know well, even if it's just one person. It's the Persian way of being respectful.
