Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use the subjunctive after 'até que' when the action in the future is not yet completed or is uncertain.
- Use present subjunctive for future-oriented actions: 'Vou esperar até que ele chegue.'
- Use imperfect subjunctive for past-oriented actions: 'Esperei até que ele chegasse.'
