Grammar Rule in 30 Seconds
Use 'بناءً على' for 'based on' and 'نظراً لـ' for 'in view of/given that' to elevate your formal Arabic writing.
- بناءً على (bina'an 'ala) requires a noun or verbal noun following it: بناءً على طلبك (Based on your request).
- نظراً لـ (nazaran li-) functions as a causal preposition meaning 'due to' or 'given': نظراً للظروف (Given the circumstances).
- Both are fixed phrases; the prepositional component ('على' or 'لـ') must always be present to link the cause to the effect.
